Below you will find some medium to bedroom sized Model Railroad Track Plans for your use. They range in size from 4’x6′ up to 8’x10’and can be sized accordingly to suit your own Model Railroad space by adjusting the length, width, and radius as needed to suit your scale of Model Railroad.
Remember that these track plans are intended as ideas for your Model Railroad, and we encourage you to adapt them to your needs to make your Model Railroad unique. This holds true of any track plan you come across, often you will need to consider the overall plan and change the details within.
Below each track plan you will find a brief description of the plan, along with suggestions on how to change them for operational purposes or from a scenic standpoint.
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to fellow Model Railroader Darrell Maples for allowing us to use his designs below on our website.

Model Railway Techniques is proud to offer our Complete Starter Table Benchwork Kits in a variety of sizes to choose from. We've combined our Benchwork Kits and Leg Assemblies into one easy package for you, taking the guess work out of buying your Model Railroad Benchwork. Designed and sized as a single benchwork platform, these kits are perfect for your first Model Railroad, or if you just want a kit that is already designed for you. All of our Complete Starter Table Benchwork Kits are designed as a one-piece unit utilizing the least number of support legs while also maintaining strength. Not only does this save you time and money, but it also frees up space under your benchwork for storage and makes wiring simpler since you have less legs to worry about. You won't find these one-piece designs with other manufacturers, as their table kits are made up from pre-sized modules, resulting in hinged joint areas that require additional support legs. For the tables over 8 feet in length, we utilize our Staggered Joint construction method that allows lengths up to 12 feet in length using only 4 support legs. The 16-foot-long lengths only require 6 support legs total. If you have a need for a size not offered, feel free to contact us at ordersthemrbs@gmail.com and we will gladly provide you with an estimate.
