Licensed Woodshop Fabricator Program Oppurtunity — United Kingdom
A repeatable kit product line for joinery shops, cabinet makers, and workshops
If you run a joinery shop, cabinet maker business, or a well-equipped workshop in the UK, this program is designed to help you add a practical, repeatable product line you can build in batches and sell locally.
We are The Model Railroad Benchwork Store / ModelRailwayTechniques.com (USA). We license qualified UK partners to manufacture and sell two product lines locally using our licensed plans and specifications:
- Benchwork / Baseboard kits (simpler, typically no legs)
- Complete table kits (includes legs and bracing; higher value)
This page explains the UK opportunity and how to apply.
Why this fits UK shops
UK buyers frequently want solutions that are:
- modular,
- accurate, and
- ready to assemble without guesswork.
For a capable joinery/cabinet shop, and solo wood workers, this is the kind of work that benefits from:
- consistent cutting and drilling processes
- repeatable assemblies
- strong packaging for domestic delivery
What you can sell (two product lines)
1) Benchwork / Baseboard Kits (starter friendly)
A strong first product line because it’s simpler to fabricate and ship.
2) Complete Table Kits (add once your workflow is smooth)
Higher order value, more parts and assemblies, best for shops comfortable with repeat production and tight QC.
Suggested UK launch plan (keep it simple)
Start small and win early:
- Launch with 6–10 baseboard/benchwork sizes first
- Add 4–6 table kit sizes later
- Keep your SKU list tight so production and packing stay clean and consistent
Pricing strategy (practical and realistic)
Many shops enter a niche market by positioning as “best value”:
- Set initial prices competitive with local options
- Emphasize build quality and consistency
- Increase pricing once demand is steady and lead times fill
Two licensing tiers
Commercial Use License
For shops that want permission to build and sell locally, without co-marketing.
Authorized Builder License (recommended)
For shops that want co-branding and potential leads from our website (directory listing and regional pages while active and in good standing).
Licenses are issued country-by-country. UK coverage is for the UK only unless expanded in writing.
Minimum standards (required)
All UK partners must follow our minimum standards for:
- materials/hardware
- workmanship and accuracy
- squareness and hole placement consistency
- packaging and damage prevention
(You’ll receive the full Minimum Standards document as part of onboarding.)
